We have to request that pending

the hearing and decision by the Supreme

Court of the Motion,

which we undertake

to bring on at the earliest possible date, H.E may be pleased to direct the said Chan Sik Cheung alias Ching Sam to be detained in custody.

It is over duty to remark that the prisoner in question will probably be discharged by the Police

Magistrate tomorrow in the case now pending against him, and that, unless

this request be complied with, he

will escape the hands of justice entirely, since N.C. has determined not

to continue his detention pending the

reference to the S. of State .
